Type your domain in and search the results.
The 3 Key DNS Records
Nameserver (NS)
Nameservers indicate where your domain’s DNS records are managed. For example, if your nameserver is ns1.hostingroo.com.au, it means your DNS is controlled on that server. In many cases (though not always), this also means your website is hosted by the provider that owns those nameservers.
A Record
The A Record points your domain to the IP address of the server hosting your website. By running an IP WHOIS lookup, you can usually identify the company that owns the server. Keep in mind, you may still be using a reseller of that provider, but the owner of the server may be able to assist with further details.
MX Record
MX (Mail Exchange) records define where your email is hosted. Common examples include ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM(Google Workspace) and *.outlook.com (Microsoft 365). You can have multiple MX records (up to 5 is common), but they will all point to the same mail service. Similar to A Records, an IP WHOIS lookup can sometimes reveal more information about where your mail is being routed.
Domain Ownership
Performing a WHOIS lookup* on your domain will give you details about where it was registered, along with other useful information. For .au domains, you should use the official auDA WHOIS lookup instead. This will show the registrar name, which you can then look up to find out more about where your domain is managed.
???? Tip: Many hosting and IT providers act as resellers for larger registrars such as TPP Wholesale,Synergy Wholesale, or Tucows.
If your WHOIS shows TPP Wholesale (Or Domain Directors / CentralNic), you can use their Provider Lookup tool to identify the actual reseller that manages your domain.
If your WHOIS shows Synergy, you can use their Provider Lookup tool to identify the actual reseller that manages your domain.
If your WHOIS shows TUCOWS, you can use their Provider Lookup tool to identify the actual reseller that manages your domain.
