How to Create a New Global Admin and Share Access with HostingRoo Print

If you're transferring your Microsoft 365 account to HostingRoo or need to grant us admin access, follow these steps to create a new Global Administrator account and securely share the login details.

 

Step 1: Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center

  1. Visit https://admin.microsoft.com
  2. Sign in using an account that already has Global Administrator privileges
 

Step 2: Create a New User

  1. In the left-hand menu, go to Users 
  2. Active users
  3. Click Add a user

  4. Fill in the following:

    • Name: HostingRoo Admin
    • Username: e.g. hostingroo@yourdomain.com.au
    • Password: Choose “Let me create the password”
    • Uncheck “Require this user to change their password on first sign-in”

Step 3: Assign Global Admin Role

  1. After creating the user, click their name in the Active Users list
  2. Click Manage roles
  3. Select Global Administrator
  4. Click Save changes
 

Step 4: Send Us the Details Securely

Please send us the following via a secure method (e.g. encrypted email or password manager share link):

  • The username (e.g. hostingroo@yourdomain.com.au)
  • The temporary password
  • Confirmation that the account has Global Admin rights

Once received, we’ll log in, complete setup, and rotate credentials for security.

 

Optional: Remove Access Later

After setup is complete, you can:

  • Remove the Global Admin role
  • Or delete the account entirely
